Uganda, as Churchill once said, the pearl of Africa, is primarily green. The country has made great strides after the end of the dictatorship and years of relative calmness, but tourists are still the exception and the infrastructure are still mostly simple. Rough, as the guide said. The highlights on the tour were certainly the mountain gorillas in Bwindi and the chimpanzees in Kibale National Park, but also the countless hippos in Queen Elizabeth National Park, the tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and the Uganda Kobs (very likely inedible, thousands of people still live them) were very impressive.
